Total Software Deployment 3.5: new assistants and actions

The long-awaited TSD update is here, bringing significant improvements to software and computer storages.

Assistants and filters for the software tree

The much-loved feature for convenient filtering of computers in the network tree is now also available in the software tree for deployment!

With the help of new assistants, you will be able to:

1. See which software is ready for deployment on your network, and filter out software that requires additional configuration.
2. Quickly view the installation context specified for software – especially useful for installers that require the end user to be logged in on a remote computer.
3. Verify the architecture (bitness) of added installers to ensure compatibility with computers that have specific architecture requirements.
4. Quickly find software with notes added to it, and filter the list based on their content.
5. Locate software that hasn’t been deployed for a certain period or has never been deployed at all.

Remote actions on computers on the network

Another new feature inherited from Total Network Inventory. In this update, you can remotely execute some useful actions on computers, including:

1. Rebooting remote computers – especially useful after installing software that requires a restart for proper functionality, but where the installer itself doesn’t support an automatic reboot flag.
2. Turning on computers in the local network using Wake-on-LAN – ideal for deploying software to machines that are currently powered off.
3. Shutting down remote computers – useful for turning off machines that were woken up via Wake-on-LAN but are no longer needed.
