Glad to welcome you again. It seems that summer has come to an end, but, despite the holiday season, our developer team has continued to delight you with compelling program updates! The key point of today’s update is the ability to customize partial synchronization of Active Directory with your TNI storage. This means that we have managed to achieve the objective set before us by Total Network Inventory users – one that turned out to be really interesting – and in the process many other elements were improved:
From here on, in more details about the key feature.
The process of synchronization with Active Directory becomes truly configurable. Here you can see the new settings that will now be available for each group in your storage:
This gives you complete freedom of action! Synchronize the entire storage or only specific groups with specific OUs in the domain, or even synchronize only one group with the whole domain. In addition, it’s possible to skip synchronization of empty OUs and disabled PCs, and if you’re afraid that any of your PCs will be moved during AD sync, you can keep them from doing so. Now everything is possible in AD sync! And also, you don’t have to wonder whether the synchronization process has ended anymore. The icon of each synchronizing group will become animated for the duration . Isn’t this all you ever wanted?
Keep your requests coming, and we’ll be happy to bring them into existence. Do not miss our next post!
Could you give me a price to upgrade my TNI3 – I need more than 50 users and want all the latest features.

This is very interesting. However when a organization unit has a comma in its name it breaks the structure of the AD in TNI. And we can no longer synchronize with AD. We had to replace the previous version of TNI.
Hello, Pierre.
Thanks for your feedback. It turns out there’s an issue with various symbols. We’ll try to fix this as soon as possible.
Hello Alex,
Can you tell me when this bug will be corrected?
Thank you and good day.
Hello, Pierre.
This problem is still on our to-do list. It will be fixed in one of the upcoming updates. The exact date is, unfortunately, not yet known.
hello, compliments for your product (i’m a your customer)
it’s possible sync with two AD domains on same storage?
Or i need to create a different storage? in this case how to create a second storage?
Thank you
Regards
Giorgio
Dear Giorgio,
Thanks for your message.
It’s not possible to synchronize with AD if the computer where TNI 3 is installed doesn’t belong to the same domain. You can install another copy of TNI 3 on a computer that belongs to another domain.
To create a new storage simply click Storage – Create… in the main menu.
